Coming Out of the Blogger Closet

First and foremost I have to say that I didn't come up with this title. I "borrowed" it from The Girl Next Door. I recently discovered her site and spent way to many hours reading her blog from the beginning. (Luckily she only started 3 months ago!!) It was one of those that I was sucked in to - as I'm sure others have found those as well.

Anyway, after reading this post I decided that I too had to come out of the blogger closet. If she could do it after only 6 posts - I thought I could surely do it after 36!

I'm not really sure why I never told anyone about my blog - it's not like there are stories on here that my friends and family haven't heard already. I guess it was just easier to start blogging and sharing with complete strangers than people I know. (I know - sounds kind of odd)

So this is to welcome all my friends and family that have recently received an email from me confessing my secret!

WELCOME!!

P.S. Please feel free to leave me a comment and share my blog with others.

I am glad you decided to come out, finally. Everyone's entitled to a secret or two, I guess. And as your Mom, I must say this "coming out" wasn't too terrible to swallow. But it will take me AGES to catch up. I will go back to the beginning eventually, though. (-:

And, of course, I'll have to link to this from my BLOG. Now if only Shannon had a Blog, too, we could all be blogger chicks!

Love, Mom

I'm your dad and I didn't know you kept secrets from me. :-)

I'm glad that you've "come out" though since we see far too little of each other and this will help keep me in the loop with what's going on.

The hardest part for me is going to be having to resist being a dad and correcting your little grammar and spelling errors!

I'm so proud of you and the loving Mom that you've become - any Dad would be happy to have you as his daughter, I'm glad I'm the lucky one that got you. (Does your sister have a secret blog too? I'd love to publicly tell her how proud of her I am too!)

With love I say this -
then: having to do with time
than: comparison
so; crying all night and than telling people that... should be crying all night and then telling people that...
OK, I told you it was hard... I promise to try very hard to rein in my parental instincts :-)

Love,
Dad

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog! It's so nice to hear from other military moms.

As far as coming out of the blogging closet, I waited awhile before I told anyone too. I was incredibly self conscious about it. Then I decided that it was worth telling family and friends and maybe I would get a comment from them at least now and again.

After browsing through your blog, I guess I am in good company!

What do you have to say?

OBSCENITY ALERT:

This Blog is my outlet. It's where I share my thoughts and feelings. It's a place where I can vent. Not everyone thinks alike. People don't always share the same religious or political views. Some people (like me!) occasionally think in more “colorful” terms than others. Sorry, but I'm a big girl and can use cuss words and talk about not-so-mainstream stuff if I want to. If you find that sort of language offensive / shocking / annoying, you may want to stop reading now. Life as a military wife ain't always pretty. It's my life, though, so don't say I didn't warn you.
