I'm a Winner!

No not a wiener - a WINNER! October was apparently my lucky month for a change, as I won a lot of cool stuff. And amazingly enough only one of them was through the bloggy carnival.

Here is a list of my winnings.

First I won this CD from Jen at Cheaper Than Therapy.

Then I won this really cute piggy bank from Cheri at Blog This Mom.

Then I won a $50 GC to Kroger's from Mir at WantNot.

Next I won a CupCooley from Jubilee at Notes of Jubilee.

And then the only one I won from the bloggy giveaway - I won Mark. lipstick and a scarf from Hollie at Just a Little Something.

Makes for a pretty cool month in my book! Oh and this month not only does Shitface come home for good (well until the next time) but I'm gonna get two kid FREE weekends! Just me and Shitface! How awesome is that!

All this awesomeness kinda scares me a little though because my luck in never this good. I just hope there's nothing looming in the future....

What's in Your Wash?

Did you hear about this story over the summer? Well lucky me, I don't have anything like that. But would you like to see some of the recent findings in our washer?

Let's take a look:

Of course we have the miscellaneous change:

I don't think I'll be getting rich this way!

Then of course we have the random button:

I generally have no idea what these belong to but I happen to know that this one belongs to my pants!

Then there is this file folder tab:

I have no idea how this ended up in here.

This one took a little searching for it's home. Any guesses?

It's actually the end cap of a jump rope.

There there are the various rivets:

Again, I have no idea what these came off of.

Then there is this. Any guesses? I think I finally figured it out.

I originally thought it was from the Lite-Brite but it's not. I now think that it's the bottom portion of a pen.

And then of course. Last but not least:

What washer would be complete without a lock!

Share with me - what have been some of your crazy finds in your washer or dryer?

Growing Every Day

The other day I washed Boy 2's winter coat. (I know that he just started wearing it this season but it was never washed from last season.) As I was folding laundry I got to his coat and handed it to him. I asked him to go put it away.

He took it and ran off down the hall. I heard him making noise in his room but ignored it and continued folding laundry. I promptly forgot about the whole thing after 30 minutes of folding laundry.

So when I went into his room to put his laundry away and saw this - I laughed out loud!

Bless his heart - he really tried hard to put that coat away! He continues to amaze me every day on his understanding of things.

Me Impatient?!?

Okay, so I admit - I'm impatient! After this post, I couldn't wait to find something to do with all my apples and I took the first suggestion that was given to me!

I made baked apples that same night I posted this. I know - I missed out on a lot of other good possibilities - but oh well. What can I say but I like instant gratification.

Here's how I did it.

I cut up some apples:

Then I mixed some sugar and cinnamon:

Then I mixed the apples and the cinnamon sugar with a little bit of butter:

And baked them in the oven at 350 for about an hour. They looked like this right out of the oven:

And they were delicious! Of course this was all I had left after the kids got a hold of them.

I guess now I have to go out and buy more apples so I can try some of the other recipe suggestions. I'll have to let you all know what else I make.

One Last Politcal Test

In case you may still be undecided on who you're going to vote for you should take this one last test before you go to the polls.

Maybe it will help you in making that final decision if you're still on the fence.

And in case you're wondering - I have finally made my decision. But that information is only for me to know.....

The Power Ranger, The Dinosaur and Hannah Montana!

As much as I can't stand Halloween I did force myself to take the kids "trick or treating" Friday night. Actually, we went up to our church and did what they call "trunk or treating". People decorated their cars (Jonah and the Whale, The Hippies, Aloha, Sleepover are a few that I remember) and then the kids went trunk to trunk and collected candy.

It was a great concept but there were way too many people! Let me reemphasize that - there were thousands of people! The kids basically starred up at people and walked in circles the whole time we were there. Someone had to hold on to them at all times to direct them in the right direction or they would have been lost for sure! They had so much to look at and I think they were a little overwhelmed. (Or maybe that was me.)

When I suggested an hour into it that we head home and walk our street; no one complained. So that's what we did. I think they really enjoyed it as there weren't as many people shoving and pushing to get candy. (Or maybe that was me.)

Oh wait, you mean you want to see pics. Well you can't because I forgot my camera.

Okay, I'm joking. Not about forgetting my camera though! Lucky for me my parents came down to assist with all the chaos and of course Mom is never caught without a camera around the kids!

So for your viewing pleasure:

The PowerRanger

The Dinosaur

and
Hannah Montana

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

OBSCENITY ALERT:

This Blog is my outlet. It's where I share my thoughts and feelings. It's a place where I can vent. Not everyone thinks alike. People don't always share the same religious or political views. Some people (like me!) occasionally think in more “colorful” terms than others. Sorry, but I'm a big girl and can use cuss words and talk about not-so-mainstream stuff if I want to. If you find that sort of language offensive / shocking / annoying, you may want to stop reading now. Life as a military wife ain't always pretty. It's my life, though, so don't say I didn't warn you.
